Wear-resistant ceramic pipes are manufactured using advanced high-technology production processes—self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS). The pipe consists of three layers from the inside out: corundum ceramic, a transition layer, and steel. The ceramic layer forms a dense corundum porcelain (Al₂O₃) at temperatures above 2200°C, creating a strong bond with the steel pipe through the transition layer.

Traditional anti-wear technologies primarily use materials such as wear-resistant steel, which are gradually being replaced by the latest wear-resistant materials like special ceramics with the development of new materials and conveying technology. Wear-resistant ceramic pipes are a composite tubing material formed by combining ceramics and organic metals through the aluminothermic-centrifugal method. The aluminothermic-centrifugal method for preparing lined ceramic steel pipes utilizes the high temperature generated by the exothermic reaction of the process to melt the reaction products, which then separate under centrifugal force, forming steel pipes lined with alumina ceramic. This method has low energy consumption and fewer processes. The ceramic steel pipes combine the high hardness, good chemical inertness of alumina, and the advantages of steel, offering excellent wear resistance, corrosion resistance, heat resistance, thermal shock resistance, and mechanical impact resistance. They are used in applications where the service life is 15 times longer than that of ordinary steel pipes.
