Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene(UHMWPE) lined steel pipe

Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene composite pipe is made by scientifically bonding ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene pipe and carbon steel pipe. Its characteristic is that the outer layer is a steel pipe with flanges as the reinforcing sheath, and the inner layer is coated with UHMW-PE as the matrix pipe material, combining the two characteristics into one.   We adopt an innovative "adhesive-free interference fit composite" process. Specifically, the outer diameter of the ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) lining pipe is designed to be larger than the inner diameter of the steel pipe. Then, mechanical diameter reduction is applied to shrink the diameter of the UHMWPE pipe, which is subsequently inserted into the steel pipe. No adhesive is required-leveraging the exceptional shape memory property of UHMWPE, the UHMWPE lining pipe will firmly adhere to the inner wall of the steel pipe after being left to stand for 24 to 48 hours.   This interference fit composite technology has not only been applied in the existing field of high-pressure slurry transportation in mines, but also in oil fields-specifically for oil production wells that suffer from severe friction and serious wax deposition. By leveraging the properties of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE), such as high wear resistance, high corrosion resistance, high impact resistance, self-cleaning, and self-lubrication, and through this advanced steel tight-lining interference fit composite process, the service life of oil production pipes has been significantly extended. Currently, this technology has been widely used in the two major domestic oil fields.
